Huafa Zhuofan Center: A Crystal-Inspired Landscape Design

The inspiration behind the Huafa Zhuofan Center's design is the concept of crystal spots. This idea permeates the entire design, from the space structure to the pavement and ornaments. The crystal spots create a rhythmic, changing atmosphere, transforming the space into an artistic sharing space. This design approach deviates from the conventional sense of division in space, instead opting for a more fluid, interconnected layout.

What sets the Huafa Zhuofan Center apart is its location at the gateway of the Dawan District. This high-end complex boasts a variety of functional businesses, including a hotel, commercial spaces, and offices. The design team utilized new technology and crafts to construct a unique vision, creating a technological and fashionable contemporary atmosphere. The art glass wall, in particular, serves as both a barrier and a display, extending the design of the crystal spot element in the vertical façade.

The design process involved a full cycle landscape design, with the project covering an area of 1024 square meters. The team behind this project included Qiu Ge, Zhong Yongcheng, Li Bing, Luo Feng, Zhou Wen, Yuan Dongyang, Li Renqiang, Huang Jiajing, Hu Zhenhong, Liu Qin, and Zhou Peng. The project was completed in October 2018.

The Huafa Zhuofan Center is more than just a physical space; it's an experience. A gently-flowing creek in the leisure backyard connects the building to the landscape naturally. As the light changes, the space flows quietly, exuding an elegant and powerful sense of existence. Visitors are transported out of their daily lives and immersed in the perception of nature and dreams. This design interaction is a testament to the team's commitment to creating spaces that resonate with people on a deeper level.

Despite the challenges posed by the project, including the need to balance the sense of boundary between the city and the venue, the design team was able to create a space that is both open and intimate. The entrance plaza, which consists of two spaces—the ceremonial lobby and the characteristic plaza—features a receding façade design that makes the space appear more open and broad. The result is a visual experience that is both comfortable and balanced.
